Fraud
Unfortunately after 20yrs the company I worked for closed due to deceased estate. We received UIF.
I activated my account protection plan paid since 2002 to be told I do not qualify because I worked for a family owned business and they will no cover my account balance. They closed my account and RCS demanded that I pay my instalments every month and in full. They also indicated they have nothing to do with Edgars clais and that I must sort it out with the insurers,get the payouts and settle the??? What?
I then lodged the claim with Edgars who opened my policy. I took the matter to the Ambudman, for that case to be passed onto 3 different entities, as I was passed onto IUA who runs Edcon policies, they used every excuse not to get this policy activated. When I queried with Hollard, the insurer, the online agent said they have never heard of this. My UIF barely covers my expenses whilst I find alternative income and a policy I spent my life paying doesn't want to pay out but yet they have been collecting my premiums off my Edgars account every month.
When I called Edgars complaints 6mnths ago to have every premium paid, refunded, the agent confirmed it's compulsory to pay on your account and it cannot be refunded or taken off. WHY must I pay for a policy that will not cover me in retrenchment and or death? Edcon collectors RCS have now demanded I settled and pay my account and have adversely updated my credit profile. Can Edcon CEO Grant Pattison assist me with this Ashe assisted many on Twitter?
This is fraud and I want my money refunded or my policy activated that I have paid premiums for since 2002. Is this what lifelong customers have to pay for a takeover and recovery of the Edcon Group?

Verified Buyer |Cannot get through to the Edgars Greenacres on number provided
I am quite appauled at the lack of updating your store numbers on the internet. I have been trying to call the Edgars Greenacres Branch the whole morning on the number provided on the till slip as 2 items I purchased were not in my bags when I returned home after the lady at the front of the store stopped me to check my bags as I was beeping at the door when leaving the store only to find out 2 t-shirts in my bag had not had their metal detectors removed. I am not sure if she when going through the contents of my bag possibly removed some items and did not return them to my bag at the main exit and entrance of the store.
The number I have been trying to call is 010 593**** and it just rings until you are cut off!!!
I have been a client of Edgars for many, many years and find this lack of service absolutely apalling to say the least.
Please let me have a number to conact them that they will actually answer, thank you
